Tutor Reader Seminar
‘The Tutor and Reader relationship is an important and formative institution for successful practice at an independent Bar.
This seminar will present a review of the role of the Tutor and the core requirements and expectations of Tutors and Readers in the Reading Program.
The seminar will also raise some practical and ethical issues and challenges which may be encountered during the reading year from the different perspectives of Readers and Tutors. It will also consider some structures and techniques to develop the relationship in order to best meet the needs of the Reader having regard to the objectives of the Reading Program.
In February 2020 Bar Council reintroduced a condition of eligibility for tutors to attend a mandatory CPD session within the previous 5 years. Attendance at this session will satisfy that condition of eligibility. Members who have recently become tutors or considering becoming tutors are encouraged to attend. Readers are also welcome to attend’
Attendees are encouraged to submit questions in advance. Questions can be submitted at the time of registration or via email to cpd@nswbar.asn.au
